One & One Theatre was born in a coffee shop in New York City, just off-Broadway. It’s conception was years and years of legitmate stealing from other theatre creators. Theatre I’d seen, been involved in, created and occasionally just heard about and thought “now that is worth stealing…”
Its life, varied and fragmented, saw it start as a two handed Henry V – Theatre in Education project. Then a short residency in an Arts Centre led to a Curate’s Egg of a Hamlet, a tormented Jekyll and Hyde, War Poets brought stuttering to life and a one woman and a one man show that told stories that people connected with.
It was these connections that led to th⁹e next phase of One & One as a workshop provider and eventually to it’s current entity as a group of mental health and mindfulness facilitators, focusing on the power of stories and the joy of reading aloud.
